Norrickenbier Brewery

The Brewing Sculpture is not quite completed but it was time to brew. I temporally zip-tied the pump on and just used the cart to support the mash tun. Before I started brewing, I decided to use my immersion chiller as a heat exchanger...aka a Heat Exchange Recirculating Mash System (HERMS). It worked really well up till time to sparge. I had been running the HLT at 220F to do my two steps during the mash. Well, this is just too hot to sparge so I had to cool it down and the HLT just doesn’t have the capacity to do 10 gallon sparges. Time to upgrade. A empty keg is waiting to be converted.
