Norrickenbier Brewery
 
 
This was the first Norrickenbier All-Grain batch. Got a little over excited  and completely screwed up and added all the grain that I ordered. I was supposed to weigh out some of the darker malts as the minimum order was more than the recipe called for. (See other recipe for original measurements). Had trouble with low strike temp, had to add lots of hot water and do two batch sparges. Total mash time: 80 mins.

First runnings SG: 1.079;
Second runnings SG: 1.055;
Third runnings SG: 1.051;
Pre-Boil SG: 1.061;
Pre-Ferment SG: 1.048
1st Racking SG: 1.012
 
UPDATE 2/3/06: This was the first batch to be kegged. That went fairly smoothly. Checked carbonation level on 2/9/06 and it was just right so removed CO2. Sample had a subtile coffee nose and a grainy taste. Overall pleasant and hopefully will get better with time.
